Footlight club12/12/2023 ![]() ![]() **Please Note: This production will include casting of understudies. We welcome actors of all ages, races, ethnicities, abilities, genders, and body types. Ibsen’s classic play examines themes of wealth, trust, and equality in a translation by Henrietta Frances Lord, against a soundtrack of 90’s rock. Set in our contemporary moment, the play examines the life of Nora, an ordinary woman at odds with her husband, her friends, and her community. Please email our producer Kate Bischoff with any questions: THE SHOW To read the complete document prior to auditions, please click here. All folks auditioning will be asked to read and agree to our policies. Additionally, understudies will be used during our rehearsal and performances (with guaranteed stage time!) to allow for the requirement that actors call out when feeling ill. Policies and procedures will be in place to ensure actor and production staff safety throughout the rehearsal and production period, including a slow “ramp up” to mask-less rehearsals, regular hand sanitizing, and efforts to maintain proper ventilation and airflow in our historic building. We expect to perform The Doll’s House unmasked and without social distancing measures (for actors or for audiences). If actors are paired in a scene during callbacks, they are asked to remain masked. Production staff will be masked during the audition process, and actors are asked to wear masks until their individual audition, at which time they are welcome to remove their masks. While we will not ask actors or production crew to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result, we expect that all participants in this production who are able will be fully vaccinated by the time of auditions. The health and safety of actors, production team, and patrons is The Footlight Club’s highest priority, and we aim to be transparent regarding our plans for Covid-19 safety during rehearsals and performances. Tech week runs from October 24th through October 28th. Rehearsals will begin the week of August 30th and run Sunday/Tuesday/Wednesday through October, with an additional rehearsal day to be added depending on cast availability.
